i was convinced entirely
that beauty and pain joined hands
embraced each other and sweetly interlocked fingers
found an electricity in touch that vibrated through the partner's existence
planted their roots deeper
pushed with such violent force into my arms
that to take away the pain
to separate these conjoined twins
was to kill them both
and might beauty the supposed goal
however unrecognized
grow in me yet
now the small red dots
once a day
will take away the erupting
will quiet down the surging pangs
and i may be smiling and lost
i may be killing all cause
