they look at the pictures of uncovered flesh
and this is youth and living?

surrounded all day it feels so morbid
the depravity of all our minds
blamed often on hormones
justified and easily accepted

and im looking for a bit of Truth
in all this defiled youth
my eyes fail, and im scared of slipping, too
into the black of nights sky and lost

and all have their spots of lies and halftruths
and all have fallen far short of You
and in this time its fun to be far short
dying for immediate pleasures-no apparent costs?

convictions even in english books, they all ignore
its easy to become hardened, to all we hear and more
but sick of living is such a pig's sty
and sick of succumbing to my own critical eye

wake up! so it says, rise up from the dead
God, take the blinders of our squinting eyes
there is more to life than immediate pleasures
and i want more than all my lies
